A twig I plucked off a serviceberry bush outside the place we ate dinner last night. Still not 100 percent sure whether it's Allegheny serviceberry or downy serviceberry; the leaves are furry (or "densely pubescent" as the guidebook puts it) as downy serviceberry is described, whereas Allegheny serviceberry is supposed to have smooth leaves. On the other hand, they're very young leaves, and I don't know what stages Allegheny serviceberry leaves might go through on the way to being smooth.

I'm glad I drew this last night, because today the flowers are almost all open (some were noticably more open than they started by the time I finished the drawing), and I couldn't have gotten the same effect.
I'd had another serviceberry drawing finished, or so I thought, but it's in the shop for repairs.
