OH MY GOD! CatGirlAlera on YouTube has posted the entirety of Hanna-Barbera's Wildfire, which was my very favorite Saturday morning cartoon at age 8. It's the girliest thing that ever girled, about a young girl named Sarah who's actually the secret princess of the fantasy world Darshan, sent to earth by her dying mother to keep her safe. However, she was left with an amulet that calls her mother's devoted magic horse Wildfire to bring her to Darshan whenever they need her. I ate that shit up, man.
Watching it now, ow, the writing, and it's Hanna-Barbera, so some of the art is nice while other bits are dreadful, but it still manages to have some of the same magic for me that it did when I was eight. (Peter Beagle was the creative director? Holy crap!) I'm actually really psyched to catch up on the episodes I missed and always wished I could have seen after it went off the air.
